Red Devils took the lead late and defeated Pendleton 7-5 on Friday. The game was tied at five with Red Devils batting in the top of the sixth when David Patterson doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Pendleton scored three runs in the second inning, but Red Devils still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Pendleton came thanks to a groundout by J Morris and an error on a ball put in play by H Fuhr.
Pendleton opened up scoring in the second inning when an error scored two runs for Pendleton.
Pendleton knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the fifth inning, when C James singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Red Devils put up three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Red Devils was led by Nick Miller and Casey Gambrell, all driving in runs in the inning.
Miller was on the mound for Red Devils. He allowed one hit and three runs over two innings.
P Bunch led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Pendleton. He allowed four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one. P Hawkins threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Red Devils tallied eight hits in the game. Chavis Stone and Miller all managed multiple hits for Red Devils. Miller and Stone each collected two hits to lead Red Devils.
Pendleton collected nine hits on the day. James and Hawkins each racked up multiple hits for Pendleton. James went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pendleton in hits. Pendleton was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. C Martin had the most chances in the field with five.
