LIBERTY, SC- Red Devils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-0 loss to Seneca on Wednesday.
Seneca scored on a single by Matthew Burgess in the second inning.
The Red Devils struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Seneca, giving up six runs.
Seneca opened up scoring in the first inning. Trent Land was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
A single by Nolan Evatt in the third inning was a positive for Red Devils.
Mason Fassino led things off on the mound for Seneca. He went six and a third innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out seven.
Jacob Jackson started the game for Red Devils. He lasted three innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out three. Casey Gambrell threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Houston Boughman, Colin Finster, and Evatt each collected one hit to lead Red Devils.
Seneca totaled 11 hits in the game. Burgess, Cole Bay, and Jack Raymark each managed multiple hits for Seneca. Burgess went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Seneca in hits.
